Haute Punch Editorial — Night Lights

As a forever changed world slowly reemerges amidst the rubble of a global pandemic, the desire for self-expression through our clothes and debuting them at any manner of social activities is a must-do. What better time to bring out the most exciting and eccentric of garments, in a farewell to conservativeness — bring the princess dress, the most extravagant of makeup and feel no shame. The lights are on and the city is alive.

I was inspired by dance floor shots taken at weddings, where the party lights are dragged across an image in a technique called shutter drag for this editorial. Knowing some great light displays around central Wellington would level up this technique for a fashion editorial. Braving the wellington wind on a cool spring night, the team and I bought colour and light to the night in a series of couture esque looks.
